Turkey Disguises Doodles

Last year just before doing our annual Turkey Disguises activity I whipped up some clip art for turkey clothing stencils to use with my first graders.  I printed, cut out and laminated the clothing pieces for them to use for stencils as they "disguise" their turkeys.  It helped them add their turkey costumes with construction paper.  I used them again this year. (Wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it was something better than what we've done in the past.)

But then one day this week, I was without my mimio (AHHHH!) and couldn't do what I had planned (we were playing a Roll-A-Dice Draw a Turkey game), so I had the kids do a step by step on how to draw a turkey on the white board with them doing the same on their white boards.  Well, that was SOOOOO much fun for my class.  They loved it.  They learned about adding details and how to fit the parts together.  Great!

Well....That led to me drawing it on my iPad that night, which also led me to revamping my turkey clothing clip art.  So I guess I will have a bit more pieces for next years Turkey Disguises activity.

Cross Doodles FREEBIE

Well, I've decided that its hard to sit and listen without doodling, so today during the sermon at church, I was doing just that.  I got to thinking that it would be fun to have some clip art to create things for Sunday School.  Not that I have time to do that, but I always thought that would be fun.  These are drawn in my "sketchy" style, so the lines aren't going to be perfect.

January and February Peeker Doodles Clip Art

This set kind of got forgotten about.  I was backing up clip are over Christmas break and came across these "peeker" inspired images that I drew last year for some thematic writing projects.  They work great for craftivity projects for writing.  Simply design what you want, photocopy on construction paper and use as a topper for a writing project.  Or use them to spruce up some of your writing neat sheets.

Sketchy Lowercase Letters Doodles

I've been working on this set for a while and finally found some time to finish it yesterday.  A while back I did a Sketchy Capital Letters Doodles and started this right after.  In this set there are BW, blue, gray, red, and yellow images.  As a bonus, I've started including the line art images.  That way you can customize the letters to your own liking using photoshop or Pixlr app.  All I ask is that you give credit to me as the artist.  Terms of use haven't changed and can be found at the bottom of my blog.

Sorry for the double posting in the same day, but it was late last night when I finished this set and didn't want to upload at 2 a.m.  Yes, I was up until 2 a.m. on the night before Thanksgiving.  That's what happens when my brain won't shut off, when I know I can sleep in, and I have so many things I want to draw, create, or read.  And once I start something I have to finish it.  I hate having a bazillion projects going at the same time.  Especially when I've got drawing on the brain and also creating and planning for upcoming things in my classroom.  Sometimes I have to force myself to just go to bed.

Hanukkah Doodles w/FREEBIE Star of David

This next week we start a brand new mini-theme on Hanukkah.  Was scrambling to create things a few weeks back and purchased THIS awesome set from Melonheadz Illustrating.  I was a bit disappointed because I had to purchase the line art and the color bundles separately.  I thought they came together when I purchased it.  Spent $14.00 just on her Hanukkah set.  Wish I would have had more time and been able to draw my own, but ya gotta share the love somehow, right?  Don't get me wrong...SHE IS AMAZING and I wish I could draw as AWESOME as her.  Finally, this last week I got creative and decided to try my hand at drawing some Hanukkah clips.

I haven't been inspired for a while, but I just purchased a new drawing app called iDraw and I love it.  Great for nice clean lines.  The only downfall is I still like my Art Studio for coloring in and doing the filtering.  But how lucky could I get?!?  I can send the images I draw in iDraw to Art Studio right from my iPad.  Happy Dance!!!!!

Sketchy Capital Letter Doodles

Finally had time to sit down at the laptop and get this Sketchy Capital Letter Doodles set up and going.  Loving to draw, but lately I am feeling a bit overwhelmed because I have too many things I want to do and NOT ENOUGH TIME TO GET THEM ALL DONE!  Ahhh!  Yes, I did just put that in all caps!  Picture me pulling my hair out while shouting that out loud!  When I'm at home all I feel like doing is just relaxing and reading a book, but there's always "school work" to do to try and get caught up throughout the week.  Throw RTI stuff in there and data collecting and trying to get ahead with running copies and organizing lesson plans.  MAP testing, DIBELS testing and end of the unit sight words assessments are just about enough right now to send me to the looney bin!  :)  Just kidding.

Sketchy Number Doodles Clip Art

I feel like its been forever that I've created a new clip art set.  Was kind of in a slump late this summer and wasn't inspired to draw. I've banked up a lot of the clip art I wanted/needed for my classroom and really hadn't felt a need or desire to draw for a while.  In the last week, I created a Math RTI Intervention packet to use with some of my students in my classroom and thought a set of numbers would be fun to draw to spice up the look of some of the pages.  So.....a "sketchy" set of clip art numbers came to mind.  I love the look of KPM Doodles and Graphics From the Pond's "Scrappy" clip art.  When I started drawing these numbers, I started just sketching bubble numbers like I used to draw during high school during cheerleading practice.  It was always fun making bubble numbers and letters for locker posters and spirit posters.  I started sketching the bubble letters, and I guess you could say this is how the name "sketchy" got attached to this set. Included are 50 images:  5 each of numbers 0-9 in gray black, BW, yellow, blue, and red.

Spent a few days last week at a teacher association assembly and had a bit of time to draw while I sat and listened to fellow teachers from other teacher associations discuss state issues on what the state teacher association is supporting.  If you understood that, its a lot of talking and parlimentary procedure stuff, so I had a little time to draw while I listened to that.  There were a few speakers that were pretty interesting.  It's always fun to listen to the teacher of the year.  Just makes me realize how I could do more.  Some teachers must have the Energizer Bunny motivating them and giving them all the energy they need to keep going and going!
