Cooking Doodles with FREEBIE Plate

Christine and I are thinking ahead to what clip art we will need in the next month or so and thought that cooking utensils might be a good idea, since we'll be doing our annual Holiday Cookbook.  The kids will be writing their own recipe of their favorite food.  We've learned after doing this for over 10+ years that kids need more and more visuals to help them write step by step projects.

FREEBIE: How to Carve a Pumpkin Writing

Did this fun little writing activity before we actually cut open our pumpkin today.  The kids did a GREAT job!  Using our Mimio projector to display the sheet and write on it, we talked through the pictures and wrote as a class how to carve a pumpkin.  I closed the Mimio and then had the kids do it in their own words!  What a blast!  The visuals truly helped those kids think step by step.  Hoping this is a good preparation for our Holiday Cookbook writing activity that we will do in about a month, where they have to write a step by step recipe of their favorite food.  Here is a FREEBIE of the sheet that I put together:

Snowtime Doodles and FREEBIE Button

Would you consider it an obsession when you dream about drawing clip art and wake up thinking of one more thing to add to a clip art set?  I can't seem to turn my brain off when I'm sleeping.  Too bad I wasn't actually drawing as I am sleeping...I'd get a lot more done in a shorter amount of time.  Pretty excited and giddy about getting two sets done this week:  Christmas Doodles and now the Snowtime Doodles set.  Excited about making some new things for our classrooms.

Christmas & Holiday Riddles

Whoa!  I know its only October, but November is just around the corner, and before you know it, here comes Christmas!  October, November, and December are my three favorite months of the school year:  Farm, Pumpkins, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and North Pole themes.  My brain kinda goes 100 miles a minute and can't plan or create/make fast enough.  Since I just finished my Christmas Doodles clip art, I thought I better get to doing more of our theme related riddles card sets.  The kids are attentive listeners and its so much fun!
